Sand and surf are synonymous with summer, but so are concerts and festivals. The summer of 2012 is primed to deliver a wide variety of shows for fans of indoor venues and outdoor areas.

Spring Awakening
Music Festival—This two day event takes over Chicago’s Soldier Field for
two full days (with pre and after-party events, too). It delivers the best of
the electronic music scene, such as Skrillex, Moby, Afrojack, Flux Pavillion,
and many more. Go to the festival’s website
for more information. (Outdoor)

Firefly Music
Festival—Delaware’s Dover Downs Raceway hosts a wide variety of pop, rock,
and indie artists. Acts such as John Legend, The Killers, Jack White, The Black
Keyes, Death Cab For Cutie, and much more are set to perform. The fest is
partnering with St. Jude Children’s
Research Hospital. Go to the festival’s website for more information. (Outdoor)

Vans Warped Tour—The
king of all summer music tours rocks its way around the country mid-June to
early August. Founder, Kevin Lyman, always chooses an eclectic blend of rock,
pop, and rap acts such as Rise Against, Mayday Parade,
New Found Glory, Bre athe Carolina, Memphis May
Fire, Man
Overboard, Blessthefall, Bayside, Pierce
the Veil, and MANY more. Go to the website for ticketing and dates.
(Outdoor)

All Stars Tour—This
tour was created last year by bands that either weren’t selected or didn’t want
to perform at Warped Tour. Now in its second incarnation, the show brings bands
such as Suicide Silence, Dance Gavin
Dance, The
Word Alive, I
See Stars, A Skylit Drive,
Attila, Stick to Your Guns, and more. Go to the show’s website for the latest information.
(Indoor)

Scream It Like You
Mean It—Another tour smashing its way across the country, this show brings
hard rock acts Attack Attack!, We Came As Romans, The Acacia Strain, Woe Is Me,
Abandon All Ships, Close to Home, Glass Cloud, and more. Go to the site for more
information. (Indoor)
Inside or outside, there are plenty of good tours coming soon.
